About This Event

From 1 January 2027, schools in Queensland will be required to implement the Reportable Conduct Scheme, a key reform under the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024. This legislation introduces the 10 Child Safe Standards and a Reportable Conduct Scheme, strengthening safeguards for children across all organisations that work with them.

This session is an important first step in preparing schools for these upcoming changes. Designed specifically for school leaders, it will provide practical guidance on professional boundaries within an educational context, helping schools build cultures of safety, accountability, and trust.

Topics covered include:

  • Understanding professional boundaries in schools

  • Identifying different types of boundaries

  • Strategies for effective boundary setting

  • Recognising and responding to boundary transgressions

  • Using reflective practice to strengthen leadership and culture

This session will equip school leaders with the knowledge and strategies to foster safe, respectful, and professional environments — supporting readiness for the new Reportable Conduct Scheme and embedding the Child Safe Standards in practice.
